Chairlift offer in summer

Two modern chairlifts whisk you virtually all the way up to the 1626-m summit of the Gemeindealpe and, if you so wish, back down into the valley to Mitterbach.

  • 4-CLD: "Bodenbauer-Express" 4-seater chairlift (800 m to 1,300 m)
  • 2-CLF: "Gipfelbahn" 2-seater chairlift (1,300 m to 1,626 m)

  • Magic carpet, length: 15 m (used exclusively by the ski school during course hours)

History of the lifts

The history of the lifts on the Gemeindealpe

  • 1950 Construction of a single-seater chairlift, section I by the municipality
  • 1955 Construction of a single-seater chairlift, section II by the municipality
  • 1961 Construction of the Wiesmath tow lift by the municipality
  • 1968 Demolition of section I, construction of a 2-seater chairlift by the municipality
  • 1988 Sale of the lifts to the Alpensesselbahn Gemeindealpe GesmbH company
  • 1995/96 Closure of the lifts due to construction defects, liquidation of the Alpensesselbahn GesmbH company
  • 1996 Establishment of the Bergbahnen Mitterbach GmbH company
  • 2003 Construction of new chairlifts with a different route by the municipality
  • 2006 Takeover of the lifts by Helmut Meder and Peter Schakmann
  • 2011 Takeover of Bergbahnen Mitterbach GmbH by NÖVOG
  • 2013 Construction of the "Birkischlepper" tow lift at the middle station for the snow park
